The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sana’a Capital Secretariat held an expanded meeting on Sunday, 5 April 2026, bringing together the sectors of mineral water, plastics, and fiber manufacturers. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman of the Board, Mr. Mohammed Mohammed Salah, with the participation of the Head of Sectors, Mr. Qais Abdul Qawi Al-Kamim, and Executive Director, Mr. Adel Al-Kholani.
The meeting focused on addressing critical challenges related to the supply of raw materials, particularly plastic “bottles (ampoules),” amid the ongoing regional conditions and their impact on global supply chains.
Mr. Mohammed Salah emphasized the vital role of national industry in meeting local market demands, stressing the importance of protecting national capital from external pressures and ensuring the continuity and stability of production.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Mineral Water Sector, Mr. Saleh Al-Shujaa; the Head of the Plastics and Fiber Sector, Mr. Samir Abdo Bashar; the Head of the Construction Materials Sector, Mr. Mohammed Al-Ansi; and the Chamber’s Operations Director, Mr. Abdullah Al-Barawi. Participants discussed several proposed solutions to address the existing challenges.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to form a technical committee to prepare a comprehensive study and a detailed requirements matrix for the three sectors, including practical solutions in coordination with relevant authorities, aiming to strengthen national industry and sustain production activities
